Meet the Team
Shad and Kati Stevens
Shad serves as the Board President of The Sunrock Foundation and Camp Director for The Sunrock High Adventure Base. Shad has always possessed a passion for helping others feel the power and inspiration only Mother Nature can provide. He started his career as a Fire Fighter/Paramedic before transitioning into Secondary Education where he has been a Teacher, Coach, Athletic Director, Vice Principal and High School Principal. Shad also served as a Head of School in China for a time. He now teaches Religious Education for the Seminary and Institute program for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints during the school year and runs the camp during the summers.
Kati serves as the Camp's Business Manager and possesses extensive experience in budgeting and finance. She has successfully run her own business for many years. She is a mother of 5 children and loves adventure in the outdoors. Kati has an amazing gift in working with young people and families to create unforgettable memories. Her abilities in the office combined with her mother's insight guides and directs the camp's experiences, especially when it comes to the camp's family week.
Shad and Kati have been married for 21 years and reside in Heber City Utah.
John Paskett
John Paskett serves as the Vice President of the Sunrock Foundation with the specific title of Director of Funding. John has served in the Corporate Leadership industry for more than 30 years. His most recent position was the VP of Americas Central and a consultant of Core Strengths. His specialties include Leadership Development, Strategy Development and Execution, Talent Development, Management Consulting, Communication-Collaboration-Coaching-Conflict Management Training, Investment Management, Investor Relations, and Capital Introduction Specialists.
Skyler and Nicole Johnston
Skyler serves as a Board Member for the Sunrock Foundation and the Assistant Camp Director for the Sunrock High Adventure Base. He finds joy in serving others in his community and working with the youth. He worked in the Scouting program and assisted many young men in achieving their Eagle Scout Award along with additional awards. He attended Wood Badge training as a Beaver and returned as a troop guide to the Antelopes. He values helping youth overcome challenges to achieve their potential. As a proud father of 5 children, he enjoys spending time with his family. Skyler is known for high adventure activities such as mountain biking, marathon running, rock climbing and mountaineering. Skyler currently works for a software company in product management and has experience in sales, support, and training. He is grateful for every day of living and loves learning new things. he is excited to see Sunrock grow and be a positive influence in many lives.
Nicole serves as the Foundation Board Secretary. She is extremely organized and currently works as the personal assistant to a well-known Christian songwriter where she manages marketing, websites, support, and finances. She loves working with youth and spent years teaching English as a second language to children and teens. She loves being active in the great outdoors and firmly believes family time is the best time! She has an intense love of traveling and one of her bucket list items is to visit every National Park in the U.S. during her lifetime (she's almost halfway there). Nicole is a fantastic mother of 5 and manages the household like a pro, including being an accountant, chef, chauffeur, teacher, and therapist. She is thrilled to be a part of this great adventure.
Jane Herbert
Jane serves as the Foundation Treasurer. She was a PE Specialist for Murray School District before moving to Kamas where she has worked at South Summit School District since 1995. She has been a PE , Special Ed Para, Middle School Secretary, subbed as a choir director for 2 years at South Summit High School. Currently she is the Financial Secretary for the high school and has been doing that for the past 16 years. Jane is the mother of 4 children and 14 grandchildren. She loves listening to podcasts, walking and taking road trips on her motorcycle. She is married to Rick Herbert, who loves riding horses in the mountains.
Quinn Calder
Quin serves on the Foundation Board and focuses on media.
